poor Kiwi! Co. accepts all types of art to get started on your project! some file types are easier than others to work with, so lets go over some recommendations that we have when submitting artwork for an estimate!

Vector Image Types
vector file types are essentially made up of various curves that are all based on mathematical expressions. because of that, the image is essentially infinitely scalable – up to the point where our computers are screaming at us and are starting to smell a bit like fire!
example file formats of vector images are: .pdf, .svg, .eps
preferred format: .ai
there are others, but these are the most common.
please DO:
– submit your vector artwork as one of these formats. again, we will accept others, but its just as easy to convert it to one of these formats… do us a solid!
– ask questions. if you don’t know. ask! we’re here to help!
– ‘expand’ all text and fonts to curves. if we don’t have the font that is embedded in your artwork, we cant see what it is supposed to look like. (it shows up as the closest match… but that often isn’t anywhere near what you intended! note: save a copy first so you can edit your text if needed,
– if at all possible, please send us the original .ai file if made in illustrator.
please DO NOT:
– import a raster image into illustrator, then submit the art as a vector file. ( one exception is any image embedded into a pdf )

Raster Image Types
raster file types are made up of individual pixels at varying tones and brightness. because of this, when zoomed in, or resized larger, jagged edges can be seen where the image transitions to the background.
example file formats of raster images are: .jpg, .png, .tiff, .gif
preferred format: .psd / .png
there are others, but these are the most common.
please DO:
– make sure your image is as large as possible (pixel wise) ex: 3000px x 3000px.
– make sure your resolution is 300 dpi. this is standard print ready resolution.
– submit other artwork that might help with any questions we have. not common, but hey, we gotta ask!
please DO NOT:
– save a raster image as a .jpg, .gif, or other “lossy” format. this removes color data and can introduce artifacts that we may not be able to work around.
– if you only have a lossy file, please ensure it follows the guidelines in the “DO” column.
- we reserve the right to NOT accept your artwork/projects for a reasons of our choosing at any time.
- artwork must be – to the best of your knowledge and ability – original or properly licensed – no exceptions.
- we will not be held responsible for Intellectual Property/Copyright infringement.
- there will be no refunds for projects containing artwork found to be stolen or bootlegged.
- just be a good human. 🙂
